Asset of Community Value – Resident Testimonials Needed
Harston Parish Council has submitted applications to South Cambridgeshire District Council for both the village shop/post office and The Queen’s Head to be listed as Assets of Community Value (ACVs).
An Asset of Community Value is a place or service that is considered important to the social wellbeing and interests of the local community. If approved, ACV status helps protect these facilities by giving the community an opportunity to act if they ever come under threat of closure or sale.
To support our applications, we are asking residents to provide short testimonials explaining why these places matter to you and how you use them. These personal statements form an important part of the assessment process.

You may wish to mention things such as:

Village Shop/Post Office
Using it for everyday essentials, parcels or banking services
How important it is for those who do not drive or have limited mobility
The role it plays in keeping the village connected
How it helps reduce isolation or supports older residents

The Queen’s Head
Its role as a meeting place for the community
Events, gatherings or activities you have attended
How it supports village life and brings people together
Why it is important to the character and identity of the village

Testimonials only need to be a few sentences.

Please send your testimonial to:

Deadline: 16 May
Your contribution will help strengthen the application and support the protection of these valued community spaces.
