How to contact the Parish Council – If a resident has a concern or would like to contact the parish council regarding a matter, The first step is to contact the Clerk (clerk@harstonparishcouncil.gov.uk). You are welcome to speak to a councillor, but councillors cannot act on their own and must raise any issues with the full council.
The Parish Council can only make decisions at a meeting and items must be on the agenda in order to be considered. The agenda must be posted three full days in advance of the meeting, so if issues are received after the agenda has been produced, they must wait until the following month. All decisions are made by the full council and minuted. Minutes can be found on the PC website.
Where there is an emergency that needs a rapid response this will be dealt with appropriately. However any item that is not an emergency should be raised with the clerk in good time, so please plan ahead. The Parish Council wants to work with residents – indeed, the councillors are all residents themselves – but the Council can only work within the legislation that is in place.
